EMC released Documentum for iPad client. A quick review of this product
The following are the features of this client
- Browsing a repository library
- Quick access to favorite and watched items, among others, using Home Screen icons
- Searching for items
- Viewing items (properties and files)
- Emailing items
- Downloading local copies of items. There is a downloads section, where we can see all the downloaded files
- Commenting on items and tasks.
- Completing workflow tasks
- Access to Centerstage Spaces, including Collaboration Wikis, Blogs and Discussions
- Home
- Home screen has the following default icons
- This screen displays the items we are watching in the centerstage
- Recent items - All the documents created, modified by the logged in user
- My Collections
- My Spaces
- dmadmin[Home] - Displays the home cabinet of the logged in user
- Favorites
- Library
- This is the repository Navigator. We can navigate through the cabinets, folders and so on. Clicking on a file displays the preview of the file. At the file level we have the following options
- View Comments
- Save to iPad
- Email item
- Properties. The default properties shown are Modified Date, Modified By, Size, Subject, Owner. Not sure how to modified this screen view
- Spaces We can navigate the spaces we have access to including wikis, blogs, discussions etc.,
- Tasks
- We can check the tasks and approve/reject
- Search
- OOTB search provides 2 filters.
- Search by format viz., Document, Image, Audio, Video
- Modified within the last Day, Week, Month, Year
